DDA 500, From Virtual to Physical
Your Research may be done either by you individually or by you and one other student working together on a shared topic.
Research some area of three-dimensional art that you feel relates to your own artwork or artistic interests. Your research should focus on the artistic aspects of the work you select, but may also include the technical. For example, you could research an individual artist, a specific artwork, or body or artwork. The work you research does not necessarily have to be digital or involve digital technology. Your topic may be from any era and from any culture.
Prepare a short presentation for the class. Your presentation to the class should run about 10-12 minutes. . Remember that the point of this research is how the work researched relates to your own work and interests, so discuss why you found the artwork you researched interesting and how it relates to your own work.
Also, write a short 3-4
page paper summarizing your research and how it relates to your own work. If you worked with another student, each of you should write your own paper, independently of the other.
Include images to supplement your writing. On the day of your
presentation, hand in your paper to me in two formats: a) as a printed hardcopy on paper; and b) as a PDF file, which you can copy to the instructor's station in the classroom.
A schedule of these presentations
will be posted on my website.
