Research Presentation & Paper

Form a team of two students. Decide together on a research topic. This should be some issue of interest to both of you and relevant to this course. Possibilities might be an analysis of an individual artwork, a particular artist’s body of work, a set of related artworks, a critical theory, a philosophical issue, the impact of a technical approach, etc..

Together, prepare a short, approximately 10-minute presentation for the class.  For your presentation, the document you create may be in any format you choose – Pdf, Powerpoint, Flash, etc. Divide up the presentation so that both students in the team do a portion of the presentation. Include why this work is significant and why it is of interest to you.  Prepare accompanying visuals and text materials to show during your presentation. Prepare a set of questions you would like to have your peers think about as a way of leading a discussion with the class about the work you present.

Each student in the team should also write a short approximately 4 – 5 page paper summarizing your research and your reactions to it.  In addition to text, include relevant images and/or movie files in this paper. Also include a list of references and links.  This paper is done by you individually, not with your teammate, so the two papers will be different and may address different aspects of your joint research.  Make sure to include your personal thoughts and reactions to the material you researched.

After your presentation hand in to me a printed copy of your individual paper.
