Group Animation Design Project

Due 12th session, 11/13/14

As a group, the entire class will work together to conceive and design an animation. The topic or content of the animation may be anything that you as a group decide on, as long as the final animation is not shallow. This means it may be conceptually thoughtful, or emotionally subtle -- or both. The animation may be narrative or non-narrative, realistic or abstract. It may involve characters or no characters, recognizable objects or none. Whatever you do, the animation must be thoughtful.

This project does not entail producing the animation. It consists of the conception and design only. The final product will be design drawings and a storyboard.

The animation should be intended for traditional display on a monitor or projection screen.

The work will be developed both during class time and outside of class time as homework. This will require students cooperating with each other, sharing ideas, information and materials, and sharing the workload equally. Students will create a common blog page on which to post and share materials.

On the due date, bring to class all materials needed to display your animation concept. At a minimum, this will include design drawings and a storyboard. Also post to the group blog page the final materials you developed..
