Imaging Lab
Myrtle
Hall, 5th floor
Hours
Lab hours are posted on the door of the imaging lab. Hours vary from semester to semester, but are usually five days per week during the daytime. A DDA graduate assistant student is assigned to the room during those hours. That graduate assistant student must be present in order for you to use the room. The DDA makes an effort to have the Lab staffed as close to all day every day as possible. If you observe problems with grad assistants not being present when they are scheduled to be, bring it to the attention of the DDA office.
Papers
The Print Lab carries only two papers – Epson Enhanced Matte and Epson Luster. Both are carried as 44” rolls.
Students may purchase and use other papers for themselve, but if and only if those papers are prepared papers for digital printing. Non-digital print papers (watercolor, etc) may not be used. Exception: There is a small printer in the Lab which is intended for experimental papers. For any non-digital paper, the paper must be approved by your instructor, the DDA lab managers, or the grad assistant on duty.
Pricing for printing
Students enrolled in an approved DDA Imaging class are allotted $50 free printing. Payment for printing -- either by using this credit, or by cash -- is made through the DDA office. Talk with the grad assistant on duty and/or the DDA Assistant to the Chairperson in the DDA office for details. Once your free allotment is used up, you pay at rates specified by the DDA office.
Students not given a free allotment may also print at the above rates.
